Jakarta, June 19 2025 — In the lead-up to the main event of Pagelaran Kampung Tugu, two schools in North Jakarta SDS Tugu Bhakti and SDN Semper Barat 11 took part in the colorful and joyful Painting the Story of Kampung Tugu program. Through the initiative titled “Pagelaran Kampung Tugu Goes to School”, students were invited to creatively illustrate the stories of Kampung Tugu while getting closer to local cultural heritage.
This activity was not just about painting it was also a cultural introduction to the rich traditions of Kampung Tugu for children. Even more exciting, the students appeared highly enthusiastic as they expressed themselves through creativity and proudly showcased their artworks. For many, it was a fun and memorable new experience.
“I really enjoyed it, Kak! It was so much fun painting the story of Kampung Tugu, and I loved the animated storybook,” said Karlos Lian S., 4th-grade student from SDS Tugu Bhakti.
“Listening to the animated storybook and painting Kampung Tugu stories was super fun because I could color the drawings with my friends,” said Raja Akmal Yusuf, 4-D grade student at SDN Semper Barat 11.
Pagelaran Kampung Tugu Goes to School was one of the programs leading up to the main event of Pagelaran Kampung Tugu. The positive energy from the students of SDS Tugu Bhakti and SDN Semper Barat 11 is hoped to help introduce Kampung Tugu culture to a wider audience celebrating together with music, traditional foods, and the iconic Keroncong Tugu performances.
